Welcoming our new trainees, Yenah & Cayla!

We are excited to welcome Yenah, our new master’s student, and Cayla, our new research assistant / upcoming PhD student!

Yenah recently completed her BA Honours in Psychology with a minor in Nutritional Sciences at UBC, where she conducted research with various marginalized groups to better understand how to support individuals who are underserved in society. She is working with the CEDAR Lab to explore the roles and responsibilities of peer support workers and examine how providing peer support influences their well-being, sense of identity, and purpose.

Cayla completed her Master’s in Occupational Therapy in 2022 at UBC. Her research project was with Foundry where she analyzed the activities that youth were engaging in and created occupational profiles of youth and young adults accessing mental health services. Cayla works within various areas of practice that include brain injury recovery, youth and adult trauma & mental health, fine motor and executive function within pediatrics and specifically cognitive rehabilitation after brain injury.

We are excited to support them in their future projects in the lab and look forward to their contributions!
